Mineral Landscapes (2025)
Video Installation, 00:12:29 looped, with sound
An experimental macro study of an opal gemstone. The slow, precise deposit of silica and water over millions of years, combined with dynamic light refraction, creates a temporal collaboration between artist and stone. The piece morphs and transforms throughout, revealing a more-than-human life and vibrant ecosystem that is familiar yet unrecognisable. ‘Mineral Landscapes’ questions the human-dominant view of natural resources, beyond mere inertion, extraction and exploitation.
